Avantara Park Ridge was instrumental in my mother’s recovery after her stroke. When she arrived, she couldn’t speak or move her arm, and her oxygen needs were sky-high due to pulmonary issues. We also wanted to stay close to her doctors and team at Lutheran General near Avantara. The stroke was a terrifying experience, but Avantara’s specialized care turned it around. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff, especially Krystal  (admissions director) and Darren, were truly remarkable. Also, Juan (housekeeping), Stephanie (dietician), Antoinette (social worker), and the nursing staff – Jude, Veronique, Precious, Heidy, and Connie; were other staff members who went above and beyond. Their unwavering support made the facility feel like a second home. The therapy was a game-changer. Mom went from struggling to walk to confidently covering 200 feet with determination. The therapists’ creativity and dedication were outstanding, and they helped her achieve feats we hadn’t imagined. The fact that Avantara Park Ridge prioritized a separate section for short-term rehabilitation versus long-term care set it apart, and their commitment to mom’s preferences, like getting her a private room, showed genuine care. Even their willingness to accommodate a song performance via Zoom for our family reunion, a significant part of her history, highlighted their dedication. And the nursing care was top-notch, and the facility was very clean. I highly recommend Avantara Park Ridge to anyone seeking unparalleled rehabilitation care that truly transforms lives.

Jorge (post-acute care coordinator) immediately made me feel welcome when I arrived, took great care of me, and made me feel confident about my recovery. I chose Avantara Park Ridge for my rehabilitation because  I saw firsthand the excellent care they gave my mother when she was a resident. The staff’s positive, caring, and responsive attitude was truly impressive. Maria (nurse) was the first person I met at Avantara. Though apprehensive about being in a new environment, her quiet and calm demeanor soothed me throughout my entire stay. Ishrat (CNA) had a gentleness and kindness that were truly healing, and CNAs Denise, Olivia, and Rose brought high energy, pleasantness, and efficiency to their work, which was invigorating. I saw the physical and occupational therapists moving in and out of rooms, working with patients constantly, housekeeping frequently cleaning, and the maintenance staff checking on infrastructure. I had a follow-up appointment at St. Francis Hospital, and the transportation arrangements went smoothly. Veranique and Vernice (guest relations) did regular check-ins with me, and Krystal (admissions director) kept me well-informed. Stephanie (social services director) told me about my discharge plan, and everyone helped me feel informed and “connected” with the goings-on. Thank you to the entire staff at Avantara. I am grateful to everyone at Avantara Park Ridge for the exceptional care they provided to my mother while she was recovering from surgery for her fractured hip. The facility was truly outstanding. During my mother’s stay, I was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer and was unable to visit her often. When my mother needed additional care and rehabilitation, I knew I had an important decision to make.

Before choosing a facility, I spent time researching nursing homes and even visited several locations in person. What immediately stood out to me about Avantara Park Ridge was how clean, welcoming, and well-maintained it was. There were no unpleasant odors, everything looked organized, and the environment felt comfortable and professional.

I was impressed before my mother’s stay even began.

What made the decision even more important was that I had to travel out of the country while my mother was receiving care. Knowing she would be in someone else’s hands was not easy, but the team at Avantara Park Ridge quickly earned my trust.

Throughout her stay, I remained in contact with the staff, even while overseas. Every time I called with questions, I received helpful answers and updates. The communication was excellent, and I always felt informed about how my mother was doing.

Most importantly, I could see the progress she was making.

The therapy team worked with her regularly, helping her improve her mobility and continue building strength. I had the opportunity to observe some of her therapy sessions, and I was very impressed with the care and attention she received.

What made me happiest was seeing how much she enjoyed being there.

The staff encouraged her to stay active, spend time out of her room, and participate in daily life instead of remaining isolated. They wheeled her outside to enjoy the sunshine, helped her stay engaged, and made sure she was moving throughout the day. She was happy, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyed her experience.

In fact, she enjoyed it so much that she wasn’t in a hurry to leave.

Every member of the team—from the therapists and nurses to the support staff and caregivers—treated my mother with kindness and respect. Staff members like Rosa and Sneyha made a lasting impression on our family through their compassion, attentiveness, and dedication.

I can honestly say that I was fully satisfied with every aspect of my mother’s stay. The care, communication, therapy services, and overall experience exceeded my expectations.

Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, Avantara Park Ridge is the first place I suggest. I trust them completely, and if my family ever needed rehabilitation or skilled nursing services again, I would choose them without hesitation.
